Novena to the Divine Infant Jesus
(Beginning Prayers For All Nine
Days)
Lord, God almighty, all things are in your hands. If you wish to save your people, no one can endure your benevolence. YOU have created heaven and earth and all inside it. YOU are the owner of all things. Who then can endure Your Majesty? Lord God of our fathers; have mercy on Your people because the enemies of our souls want to ruin us and the difficulties presented to us are great. YOU have said, "Ask and you shall receive. Those who ask, receive. Everything that you ask to my Father in my name, He shall grant it to you. But ask with Faith." Then please listen to our prayers. Forgive us our sins. Remove from us the punishments we deserve and convert our tears to joy, so that we can praise your Holy Name and continue praising you eternally in heaven. AMEN.
Prayer to the Holy Virgin Mary
Oh Merciful Virgin Mary, remember that it has never been heard that anyone who has come to you for protection and begged for help, has ever been ignored by you. Encouraged by the Confidence and faith in you, we come to you. And even though we are overwhelmed by the weight of our sins, we dare to come to you for help. You are the lawyer of sins and the aid of the Christians.
Don't reject, Oh Mother of God, our humble petitions. Instead put within reach the pardon of our sins, light and good judgement so that we can make a good confession of all our sins; virtue to always conserve the Grace of God and with your aid find our eternal salvation.
And if it is convenient
to our souls, we ask for the following favors (each one of us ask for a
petition that we need), and we hope that God's will be fulfilled in everything,
AMEN.
Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory
Be . . . .
The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth. He was sent to a young virgin who was engaged to a man named Joseph, of the family of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. The angel came to her and said, "Rejoice, full of grace, the Lord is with you." Mary listened and was troubled at these words, wondering what this greeting could mean. But the angel said, "Do not fear, Mary, for God has looked kindly on you. You shall conceive and bear a son and you shall call him Jesus. He will be great and shall rightly be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the kingdom of David, his ancestor." Then Mary said to the angel, "How can this be if I am a virgin?" And the angel said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; therefore, the holy child to be born shall be called Son of God. Then Mary said, "I am the servant of the Lord, let it be done to me as you have said."

Practice: I will propagate the devotion to the Divine Infant Jesus by giving out Novenas, stamps and images of Him or by telling people about the favors he has granted me.
Remember Oh Sweetest Jesus that you have said: "All that you want to ask for, ask for it through the merits of my Infancy and nothing shall be denied." If you want to please me, confide in me. If you want to please me more, confide in me more. If you want to please me immensely, confide in me immensely." Depending on your Faith, that is how petitions shall be answered.
We want to have enormous trust in you. By the merits of your infancy, help us lead a holy life, forgive us our faults, free us from the punishment that our sins deserve and from the dangers of our body and soul. Grant us those favors that we need most and after a life full of peace and joy and good deeds, take us to the glory of your paradise where with the Father and the Holy Spirit, You live and reign forever and ever. AMEN.
JESUS,
MARY AND JOSEPH: Bless our homes.
JESUS,
MARY AND JOSEPH: Free us of all evil.
JESUS,
MARY AND JOSEPH: Save our souls. AMEN. ALLELUIA.
In the name of the Father, and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. AMEN.
The angel said to Mary, "Your relative Elizabeth is expecting a son in her old age, although she was unable to have child, and she is now in her sixth month. With God nothing is impossible." Mary then set out for a town in the Hills of Judah. She entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leapt in her womb. Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and giving a loud cry said, "You are most blessed among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb! How is it that the mother of my Lord comes to me? Blessed are you who believed that the Lord's word would come true!" And Mary said: "My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit exults in God my savior because He has looked upon his servant in her lowliness and people forever will call me blessed. The Mighty One has done great things for me, Holy is His Name!" And Mary remained with Elizabeth about three months then returned home.

Practice: For the Love of God, I shall remain quiet when I am furious and shall pray for those who have offended me.
The emperor issued a decree
for a census of the whole empire to be taken. Everyone has to be registered
in his own town. Joseph belonged to the family of David, so he went to
Judea to David's town of Bethlehem to be registered with Mary, his wife,
who was with child. It was then time for Mary to have her child, and she
gave birth to a son, her firstborn. She wrapped him in swaddling clothes
and laid him in the manger, because there was no place for them in the
living room. There were shepherds camping in the countryside,
keeping watch over their flocks by night.
Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared to them. As they were terrified,
the angel said, "Don't be afraid; I am here to give you good news, great
joy for all people; today a Savior has been born to you in David's town;
he is the Messiah and the Lord. Let this be a sign to you: you will find
a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger." And then many
angels appeared singing, "Glory to God in
the highest; peace on earth for God is blessing
humankind." They went hurriedly and found Mary and Joseph with the baby
lying in the manger. On seeing this they related what they had been told
about the child, and all were astonished on hearing the shepherds. As for
Mary, she treasured all these messages and continually pondered over them.

Practice: I will remember a favor granted to me by God and shall give him thanks and if it is possible I shall narrate it to someone.
The day came, 40 days after
the birth of Jesus, and Joseph and Mary brought the baby up to Jerusalem
to be present him to the Lord, as it is written in the law of the Lord:
Every firstborn male shall be consecrated to God. There lived in Jerusalem
at this time a very upright and devout man named Simeon; the Holy Spirit
was in him. As he looked forward to the time when the Lord would comfort
Israel, he had been assured by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before
seeing the Messiah of the Lord. So he was led into the Temple
by the Holy Spirit at the time the parents
brought the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom of the Law.
Simeon took the child in his arms and blessed God saying, "Now, Oh Lord,
you can dismiss your servant in peace, for you have fulfilled your word
and my eyes have seen your salvation, which you display for all the people
to see. Here is the light
you will reveal to the nations and the glory
of Your people Israel." His parents wondered at what was said about the
child. Simeon blessed them and said to Mary, His mother, "See him; for
the multitudes of Israel he will be for their rise and fall. He shall stand
as a sign of contradiction, while a sword will pierce your soul. Then the
secret thoughts of everyone will be brought to the light."

Practice:
I shall give a donation to a temple or church or some type of religious
work. But this donation shall cost me. (If what I give doesn't
cost me, then I shall not give
it because I don't want to cheat myself thinking that I have given something
that in reality didn't cost me anything). God rewards those that do cost
to give.
When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, in Judea, during the days of King Herod, wise men from the east arrived in Jerusalem. They asked, "Where is the newborn King of the Jews? We saw the rising of his star in the east and have come to honor him." When Herod heard this he was greatly disturbed and with him all the people in Jerusalem. He immediately called all high ranking priests and experts of the Law and asked them where the Messiah was to be born.
They told him, "In the town of Bethlehem in Judea, for from you will come a leader, the one who is to shepherd my people of Israel." So Herod called the wise men to a private meeting and told them, " Go and get precise information about the child. As soon as you have found him, report to me, so that I too may go and honor him."
The wise men left and the star they had seen in the East went ahead of then and stopped over the place where the child was. The wise men were overjoyed on seeing the star again. They went into the house and when they saw the child with Mary his mother, they knelt and worshipped him. They opened their bags and offered to him their gifts of gold, incense and myrrh. In a dream they were warned not to go back to Herod, so they returned to their home country by another way.

Practice: I shall enter a temple
of God and make a brief visit to the Holy
Sacrament.
The child grew in stature and strength and was filled with wisdom: the grace of God was upon him. Every year the parents of Jesus west to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover, as was customary. And when Jesus was twelve years old, he went up with them according to the custom for this feast. After the festival was over, they returned, but the boy Jesus remained in Jerusalem and his parents did not know it.
The first day of the journey they thought he was in the company and looked for him among their relatives and friends. As they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem searching for him and after three days they found him in the Temple, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking questions. And all the people were amazed at his understanding and his answers. His parents were very surprised when they saw him and his mother said to him, "Son why have you done this to us? Don't you realize that your father and I have been full of sorrow while searching for you?" Then he said to them, "Why were you looking for me? Do you not know that I must be in my Father's house?" But they did not understand this answer. Jesus went down with them returning to Nazareth, and he continued to be under their authority. As for this mother, she kept all these things in her heart.
This is the Word of the Lord
Practice: I shall give or do something good to my family or to the people that live in my house. A good deed that shows my appreciation.
"When the Son of Man comes in his glory with all his angels, he will sit on the throne of Glory. All nations will be brought before Him, and as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, so will he do with them, placing the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. The King will say to those on his right: Come blessed of My Father! Take possession of the kingdom prepared for you from the beginning of the world. For I was hungry and you fed me. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me into your house. I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you went to see me."
Then the upright will ask him: "Lord when did we see you hungry and give you food; thirsty and gave you to drink, or a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and clothed you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to see you?" The King will answer, "Truly, I say to you: whenever you did this to one of the least of my bothers, you did it to me."
Then He will say to those on his left: "Cursed people, go away from me into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels! For I was hungry and you did not feed me, thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink; I was a stranger and you did not welcome me into your house; I was naked and you did not clothe me; I was sick and in prison and you did not visit me."
They too will ask: "Lord, when did we see you hungry, thirsty, naked or a stranger, sick or in prison, and did not help you?" The King will answer them: "Truly I say to you: whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do to me."
And these will go into eternal punishment, but the just to eternal life.

I shall do an act of faith thinking of my heart: "I can do
anything in Christ who fortifies
me. Everything is possible to whom has
faith."
Once there was a rich man
who dressed in purple and fine linen and feasted every day. At his gate
lay Lazarus, a poor man covered with sores, who longed to eat just the
scraps falling from the rich man's table. Dogs used to come and lick his
sores. Finally the poor man died and angels carried him to take his place
with Abraham. The rich man followed shortly and was buried. From hell where
he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham afar
off, and with him was Lazarus at rest. He
called out: "Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus with the
tip of his finger dipped in water to cool my tongue, for I suffer so much
in this fire."
Abraham replied": "My son, remember that in your lifetime you were well-off while the lot of Lazarus was misfortune. Now he is in comfort and you are in agony. But that is not all. Between your place and ours a great chasm has been fixed, so that no one can cross over from here to you or from your side to us." The rich man implored once more: "Then I beg you, Father Abraham, to send Lazarus to my father's house where my five bothers live. Let him warn them so that they may not wind up in this place of torment." Abraham replied: "They have Moses and the prophets. Let them listen to them." But the rich man said: "NO, Father Abraham. But if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent." Abraham said: "If they will not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the grave."
This is the Word of the Lord
Practice:
I shall put aside clothes in good condition or food for the poor
at the first opportunity, I
will visit a family in need or a sick person and
give them the clothes.
In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God; He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him and without him nothing came to be. Whatever has come to be, found life in him, life which for humans was also light. Light that shines in the dark; light that darkness could not overcome.
For the Light was coming into the world, the true light that enlightens everyone. He was already in the world and through him the world was made, the very world that did not know him. He came to his own, yet his own people did not receive him; he empowers to become children of God for they believe in His Name.
And the Word was made flesh;
He had His tent pitched among us, and we have
seen His Glory, the Glory of the only Son
coming from the Father: fullness
of truth and loving-kindness.
This is the Word of the Lord
Practice:
I shall ask GOD for forgiveness and I will try to change in me
those faults that I usually
commit.
Ask for miracles, even though
we are not saints,
because what makes us obtain
miracles is not
our holiness or saintliness,
it is our faith.
